Vector Informatik acquires CSM

On July 1, 2024, Vector Informatik GmbH, completed the full acquisition of CSM GmbH, a leading manufacturer of measurement technology based in Filderstadt, Germany. This strategic move solidifies a partnership that began in 2015, during which both companies collaborated to provide comprehensive hardware and software solutions for measurement technology applications. Finally, in 2024 Vector Informatik acquires CSM.

CSM GmbH, established in 1983 develops a wide range reliable measurement technology devices. CSM GmbH has earned a strong reputation for developing CAN and EtherCAT® measurement modules used to measure temperatures, voltages, mechanical strain, rotational speed, and more. With a workforce of over 100 employees, CSM operates from its headquarters in Filderstadt and maintains international branches, including a dedicated team in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA. CSM will continue its operations post-acquisition independently at its Filderstadt location.

The transition in leadership saw Dr. Stefan Krauß, a long-standing Vector employee since 2002, assume the role of Managing Director on July 1, 2024, following the departure of CSM’s founders and managing directors Iris and Dr. Winfried Koch.

Dr. Stefan Krauß expressed enthusiasm about the new role, stating, “The many years of successful cooperation have shown that Vector and CSM can ideally combine their respective expertise to provide our customers with robust and future-proof measurement technology. We want to meet future challenges, especially in e-mobility, with further tailor-made developments.”

Vector Informatik, with an annual turnover of €1.16 billion in 2023, is a leading provider in the development of software-based electronic systems. Vector is renowned for developing vehicle software testing tools such as CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, and many more. Over its 35-year history, Vector has expanded its global presence, employing over 4,500 individuals across various locations, including its headquarters in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf and branches in Brazil, the USA, the UK, Japan, India, China, and South Korea.
